APPLICATIONS
Macor is used in many areas including heat-solder fixtures, shields, supports, plasma; machinery-valves, nozzles, bearings, spacers; electrical - insulators, CRT's, spacers, substrates, chemical, instrumentation, vacuum and more.

Distributed in bar, plate and rod shapes. Macor is also available in custom shapes from our own ceramic fabrication group. Send us a print and we'll gladly give you a quote.

MACHINABLE CERAMICS Standard Sizes For Custom Applications.

Machinable ceramics were developed to provide design flexibility. This means they can be formed without hard tooling but with the ability to be changed at a later date if needed.

East Coast Sales offers three standard grades or types...

  1. Aluminum Silicate ASM 815
Properties include low thermal expansion with a temperature tolerance up to 1100°C. It's readily machinable with standard tooling devices and is well suited to meet close tolerances.
  2. Zero Ceram 820
This ceramic has virtually a zero thermal expansion factor and tolerates temperatures up to 1200°C. It's widely used in thermal shock environments.
  3. Glass Bonded Ceramic 825
This ceramic has very high dielectric strength characteristics. It's non-porous and tolerates heat up to 550°C. Frequently used where vacuum and electrical requirements are critical.
